Requisition Id 827 Description of job Design and control of robotic systems for large scale metal additive manufacturing and robotic machining. Purpose The Department of Energy Manufacturing Demonstration Facility and the Manufacturing Systems Research Group at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) are seeking senior technical staff to lead the software and hardware (Augmented/Virtual Reality) tools for advanced manufacturing (additive manufacturing, composites, robotics and automation and machine tools). The engineer with collaborate with teams of mechanical and electrical engineers on the development of new prototype manufacturing systems as well as develop new protype robotic systems for the defense department using the state of the art in manufacturing systems.
