The Clinical Lab Scientist performs a range of standard and/or technically demanding procedures in 1 or more of the Clinical Laboratory disciplines exercising initiative and independent judgment. Communicates technical or general details to their manager, director, and medical staff. May provide instruction in the basic theory, computer skills and application of laboratory test procedures. May provide functional supervision to support personnel. Performance of analytical procedures: :Performs a range of standard procedures in 1 or more of the clinical laboratory disciplines. :Recognizes critical or significant findings. :Operates instruments and other equipment following established procedures. :Performs calibration, standardization and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment. :Performs simple trouble:shooting activities according to established guidelines. :Disseminates laboratory test details in a timely manner.
