Position description: Performs quality frozen sections for MOHs surgical specimens. Responsibilities: Accurately identifies each patient specimen and accurately accessions into the pathology Info system. Reports pertinent details to the MOHs surgeon or supervisor (e.g., instrument malfunctions, delay in testing and reagent or supply depletion. Dates opened and expiration dates in reagents, controls etc. and uses reagents and controls only until their expiration date. Orders supplies and reagents for Mohs lab. Maintains cleanliness of work areas and keeps work areas Organizational and stocked. Follows procedures and refers to procedure manuals for proper instructions. Proficiently operates the cryostat and other equipment and follows troubleshooting procedures to correct deficiencies or problems as they occur. Ensures instrument operations and results are reliable and performs maintenance checks, start ups and shut downs as assigned or required.
