Medical Coding Auditor - (Phoenix, AZ)

Performs coding audits of the medical coding team using a prescriptive audit tool to verify the completeness, accuracy and adherence to departmental procedures and documentation guidelines of randomly selected claims. Reports to: Manager of Quality & Audit Department: Business Performance Mgmt. Location: Phoenix, Arizona Critical functions: Audits coding accuracy of CPT, HCPCS, and diagnosis codes, including modifiers, unlisted codes, global surgical days, etc. Documents and reports audit findings by individuals and teams. Communicates audit results in a structured report format. Tracks and maintains quality results for appropriate distribution. Coaches and gives feedback to individuals based on error findings. Facilitates individual training regarding the competencies needed based on audit results. Maintains audit tools consistent with regulatory guidelines. Adjusts audit tools as warranted by business growth.
