Position Purpose and Objectives: The Mortgage Loan Originator performs a broad spectrum of duties related to the origination of residential first mortgages. Meets standards, objectives and goals set forth by management for originating loans and cross:selling products and services of the bank. MIN REQUIREMENTS: .College diploma or equivalent background desired. .Demonstrated high-level current understanding of residential conventional/government mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing guidelines. .Mortgage sales background required. .Demonstrated proficiency in Ms office programs; Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. .NMLS registration required ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: .Develop referral contacts (realtors, builders, professionals and personal contacts) for first mortgage loans. .Manage a portfolio with a min of six million dollars in mortgage loans. .Interview clients and gather info pertaining to their unique financial situations, needs and objectives.
