Engineer - Scientist - Environmental & Safety - (San Antonio, TX)

Position description: Perform engineering and or scientific analyses and other activities necessary to support the Environmental and Safety Systems (ESS) department related to environmental compliance. Assist senior staff in maintaining environmental programs, including waste management, petroleum/chemical storage, wastewater, stormwater, and environmental assessment. Assist in public water system operations, including updating plans and operational documents. Prepare regulatory compliance documents for review/submittal. Support wastewater permit compliance activities. As directed, perform campus-wide surveillance activities related to environmental compliance. Education/Background: Requires a BS degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or other earth science related degree with 0-three years background. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Must have relevant environmental academic or professional setting or completion of an internship in environmental engineering/science.
