Engineer - Research Engineer - Turbomachinery - (San Antonio, TX)

Position details: Develop designs for machinery components, including radial/axial stages, shafts, casings, seals, piping, etc. for a wide variety of machinery and test rig applications. Utilize analysis tools such as finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics analysis to verify and improve machine designs. Prepare and/or run models of fluid handling machinery and piping systems to identify behaviors, responses to inputs, performance values, and changes with operating conditions. Assist in the development of software and diagnostic tools to enhance data collection and analysis, machinery system modeling, machinery issue solving, and the design of improved fluid handling machinery and systems. Conduct laboratory research required by clients and directed at finding solutions and advancements for fluid handling machinery. Independently write technical reports, proposals, and technical presentations. Participate in and publish at conferences and other events to actively promote SwRI business.
