Research Engineer - Sr. Research Engineer - Turbomachinery - (San Antonio, TX)

Job description: Develop designs for machinery and machinery components, including radial/axial stages, shafts, casings, seals, piping, etc. for a wide variety of machinery and test rig applications. Utilize analysis tools such as finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics analysis to verify and improve machine designs. Prepare and/or run models of fluid handling machinery and piping systems to identify behaviors, responses to inputs, performance values, and changes with operating conditions. Develop software and diagnostic tools to enhance data collection and analysis, machinery system modeling, machinery issue solving, and the design of improved fluid handling machinery and systems. Lead laboratory research tasks required by clients and directed at finding solutions and advancements for fluid handling machinery. Independently write technical reports, proposals, and technical presentations. Travel to client sites and other locations.
