Ocean Import Operations - (New York, NY)

Established freight forwarder located in Manhattan, NY seeks an experienced Ocean Import Specialist. Monday Friday, first shift hours Primary duties include but not limited to: - Facilitate the daily operations of the FCL and LCL shipments imported in the US via ocean carriers - Receiving shipping instructions and follow customer specific guidelines in the preparation and transmission of export transactions - Prepare files, distribute documents, track cargo, handle billing and collection of funds - Track and trace shipments - Build relationships with all customer, other offices, overseas agents and service providers The successful applicant must have: - 5+ years of background working in the freight forwarding industry handling ocean import - Strong communication abilities, both oral and written - Literacy with Microsoft office Suite Salary commensurate with background; company does offer benefits if and when employee goes permanent
