Department CORP - CLINICAL ADMINISTRATION Location Allentown Rehab Hospital Allentown, PA Account one Schedule Full-time (36+ hrs/wk) Shift Day / Evening Job description 2+ years preferred JOB PURPOSE: Secure ongoing insurance coverage for outpatient therapy services and files appeals for any insurance denials. ESSENTIAL RESULTS & COMPETENCIES: * Performs accurate and timely maintenance of authorization functions, referrals and visit limit tracking in Cerner * Prevents disruption of service by securing the necessary authorizations prior to end date after consulting with therapist * Acts as a patient advocate between the patient and insurance company * Communicates authorization status between patient, PSR, provider and insurance company * Maintains authorization work lists in Cerner * Research denials due to authorization or referral issues and determine cause and resolution
