Lab Research Scientist - (Atlanta, GA)

Evaluate and perform various techniques to rapidly identify and characterize microbiological agents that cause a number of diseases. Conduct training for CDC field staff on performance of new diagnostic assays and protocols. Coordinate the sequence and scheduling of work with the laboratory lead. Modify standard study methods and qualifications, practices, or techniques or existing guidelines to address current and evolving problems or issues. Identify methods and procedures to collect data, and conducts experiments and studies, making adjustments to methods and procedures as appropriate during the course of the studies or experiments. Evaluate new diagnostics procedures and coordinates their use in CDC international and partner laboratories. Assist with laboratory equipment and supply procurement and inventory management collaborate with other investigators at CDC and/or collaborating institutions to carry out specialized study procedures as necessary.
