Bioinformatics Scientist - Next Generation Sequencing Specialist - (Northbrook, IL)

Develop infrastructure to process various Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) cancer samples. *** Design, prototype, test, and implement data pipelines to execute NGS processing techniques with an emphasis on somatic gene mutations and gene fusions from Illumina, SOLiD, DNASeq, RNASeq, and similar data. *** Create and implement plan to process batches of patient samples using a standard job scheduling, grid engine package on the deployed cluster. *** Participate in the development of quality control and validation strategies to improve processing pipelines and methods. *** Collaborate with vendors to create large scale-cloud based data management, parallel processing, and similar architectures to process paired tumor-normal DNASeq exome samples and tumor RNASeq samples. *** Assist with bioinformatics and scientific programming with Spotfire, Pipeline Pilot, and similar.
