Team Lead - Public Entity Insurance Underwriter - (Hartford, CT)

Seeking individual with extensive hands-on underwriting background for public entity markets ranging from school districts to townships, cities, and counties to lead a team of underwriting staff and generate profitable new and renewal business. Must have knowledge of General Liability or Excess Liability coverage. Activities: *** Communicate profit goals, loss ratio, new business development, policy count, account retention, and other measurements; develop and pursue strategies to meet all metrics. *** Manage and control underwriting exposure and pricing strategy consistent with company objectives. *** Provide leadership and advice to staff underwriters regarding underwriting risks. *** Act as the face of the company at networking functions and industry events to meet and prospect new clients.
