Description: Position overview Applicant functions at the expert level with regard to satellite space segment and ground station design and operation. Responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding. Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Specifically, this position is a responsible for conducting mission planning for SATCOM operations in support of the US Antarctic Program. Assignments include developing detailed plans and procedures associated with the establishment of satellite earth stations to utilize MILSATCOM services. The successful applicant shall hold a leading role for the development of key deliverables including: * SATCOM earth station ConOps, * Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for an OCONUS and/or CONUS satellite teleport, * Terminal facilities design through AFC
