Lactation Consultant - Part Time .2 FTE - (Annapolis, MD)

Position Objective: Conducts bedside lactation rounds daily and consults with mothers having breastfeeding problems. Essential Position duties: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the key functions When providing breastfeeding support and teaching to breastfeeding patients and families, utilizes knowledge of personality, counseling skills, and family and group theory. Develops and individualizes a breastfeeding plan of care for each mother-baby couple in accordance with established standards, appropriate prioritization of problems/needs, and mutually agreed upon goals. Continuously evaluates the effectiveness of the breastfeeding plan of care, making revisions and recommendations based on analysis of patient responses to interventions. Selects appropriate breastfeeding related supplies for retail sale and for rental. Over-sees breastpump rentals and retail sales within lactation services.
