Police Cadet - (Okemos, MI)

DUTIES -Assigned office and clerical duties -Equipment and facility maintenance -Routine police service requests at the reception area -Report writing in cases of minor nature -Answering and directing incoming phone calls -Selected community service assignments -Subsitute as crossing guard REQUIREMENTS * Currently enrolled as a student at an institution of higher education or at discretion of Chief of Police. Criminal Justice students preferred. - Attitude toward the mission of Meridian Township Police Department - Expertise to analyze situations and adopt a quick, effective, reasonable course of action - Expertise to understand and carry out oral and written orders/instructions - An interest in law enforcement or related position. This includes problem-solving - United States citizen * Posses a current drivers License - Expertise to develop cooperative working relationships with fellow employees - Expertise to work courteously and professionally with the public
