Painter / Sprayer Use basic processes to prepare, mix, and apply paint and other finishes to a variety of sheet metal aircraft components. Duties and Responsibilities: * Mix paints, composites and a variety of finishes and apply in specific areas. * Apply by brushing and spraying for proper thickness and surface finish. * Prepare for applications to isolated areas through masking and other control methods. * Provide surface preparation through various media and chemicals. * Touch-up surfaces and make allowances for change in finish during drying and baking. * Detect faulty processes and provide input for their resolution. * Accommodate time and temperature charting qualifications. * Read and understand customer specification criteria for finishes as well as precautions and safety criteria. * Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gages, and other inspection devices.
