COBOL Programmer Level I - (Richmond, VA)

Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:Under close supervision, assists in designing, coding, testing, developing, and documenting application programs and procedures for computer-based business systems. Works with users to define system scope and objectives. Develops block diagrams of program logic from program specifications. Tests resulting instructions and identifies erroneous coding and inadequate or incorrect block diagramming. Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:As a developer you will be a part of a team that primarily supports custom web based applications and COBOL development running on Windows servers utilizing an Oracle based data tier. Developers will design, implement, code, test and maintain code according to design documentation, industry best practices, and established software engineering standards. The person will prepare and review system documentation composed by development teams.
