Job summary * GENERAL SUMMARY * Works under the supervision of the Manager of Claims Processing. The Claims Processors primary job function is to review, process, and submit accurate hospital claims. Is responsible for safeguarding the public relations and confidentiality of the hospital and its records by consistent professional conduct. Performs other duties as assigned. * REQUIREMENTS * Education: * GED/High-school certificate required * Courses in bookkeeping or business preferred * Licensure: * None * Background: * 3 to 6 mnths of related work background in a hospital preferred * People skills: * Basic level of analytical expertise necessary in order to gather and interpret data related to the billing process. Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful but not required if willing to acquire this knowledge.
