The engineer is responsible for providing onsite technical and engineering support in the planning, evaluating, and testing of the AN/SRQ-4 (Ku) Hawklink data link system and all shipboard Exterior Communication (EXCOM) systems including the Ship's data, voice and satellite communications equipment (HF, UHF, and VHF radios; Link eleven & 16 terminals; SATCOM equipment; cryptographic equipment; antennas; etc).
