Position: Copy Editor Location: Seattle Starts: around 2/14 Duration: Possible Full-time Status: 90-day freelance / possible 2-year Full-time position Rate: around $27, DOE Our nonprofit client is hiring a copy editor to join their team for a 90 day freelance assignment with the potential to convert to a two year full-time position, starting mid-February in Seattle! The copy editor will be editing and proofreading a range of print and digital deliverables such as educational curricula, web copy, press releases, marketing collateral, scientific research papers. The copy editor will ensure consistency and clarity messaging across channels and also work on copyright and trademark filings. The ideal copy editor will have: -firm grasp of grammar and the formal editing process -4+ years of background working in editorial roles -proficiency in Chicago Manual of Style (required) -background with web publishing, content management systems, and basic HTML
