Job Scope The Chief Engineer is responsible for the supervision of engineering property operations at 1 or more buildings and coordinates direct and controls the activities of employees engaged in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and/or specialized maintenance and repairs. Assigns tasks to workers, and inspects completed work for conformance to standards. Responsible for employee selection, training, scheduling, and discipline according to company policy. May requisition or purchase supplies and equipment. Responsible for safety regulations, walk-throughs pertaining to facilities, audits, budgets, deadlines, appraisals, vacation schedules, computer generated reports. The Chief Engineer is expected to be actively involved in working with tools, making repairs in order to maintain operations and provide a safe and stable operation while optimizing the engineering efforts.
