Sr Buyer/Planner - (Middletown, CT)

Working under the direction of the Cell Operations Manager, the Senior Buyer/Planner is responsible for analyzing, selecting, and committing company resources through contracts and agreements for the procurement of goods and services in support of company purchasing and production objectives, policies, and qualifications, as well as coordinating planning and control activities for a manufacturing program. This role negotiates and procures general and complex items required by the business and under the most beneficial conditions achievable, ensuring operational and customer qualifications are met in terms of quality, cost, and delivery. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the procurement and planning functions. Duties include, but are not limited to Monitors production control activities, assesses qualifications and plans for business needs; ensures adequate flow of details with business unit and suppliers concerning progress of materials, delivery and production schedules.
