Telephone Operator Job - (St Paul, MN)

Job Description: MIN REQUIREMENTS: Background: Two Years clerical background or 6 months background in the operation of a telephone switchboard, preferred. Working with Avaya Software is a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must be 18 yrs of age or older. Must be able to speak English and be easily understood, read and write English and understand instructions. Must be able to operate a telephone console w/ speed and accuracy and deal tactfully and courteously with the public. Must have strong customer service skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Expertise to quickly absorb and remember considerable amounts of details and keep complex clerical records. Must be able to react quickly and according to procedures in emergency situations. POSITION OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Answer incoming calls on main Regions Hospital number, determines call destination and route calls appropriately. Receive a variety of emergent calls and coordinate proper response according to procedures.
