Licensed/Experienced Veterinary Technician - (Grand Rapids, MI)

BluePearl Michigan in Grand Rapids is seeking a licensed veterinary technician for our oncology department. The perfect applicant would have a passion for wanting to create a bond between themselves and their patients. An oncology nurse must be able to cope with the emotional stress of dealing with patients with cancer. Requirements: Preferred to be licensed in the State of Michigan, but will consider experience. Must have a min of 2yrs experience as in a small animal veterinary hospital. Specialty or oncology experience desired. Should be self-motivated, a quick thinker, able to multi-task efficiently, and have outstanding communication abilities and compassion. Responsibilities: Triage and obtain patient history Venipuncture Placing intravenous catheters Perform radiographs Patient care including diagnostic procedures and treatments Anesthesia monitoring Follow OSHA safety standards for preparing, handling and disposing of chemotherapy drugs Operation of the chemotherapy hood
