Buyer/Planner - (Augusta, GA)

Buyer/Planner for a manufacturing plant with 300 employees which manufactures electrical power circuit protection devices. This is an international firm which is a leader in its field. The position reports to the Materials Manager who in turn reports to the Plant Manager. A BS/BA degree from an accredited school is required along with 5+ years of purchasing background in both, direct (OEM) and indirect (Maintenance). OEM commodity background must include easily counted discrete objects and not chemicals and other liquids, powder, granules, etc. Must have strong ERP system background, preferably SAP. Must have background managing supplier relationships and negotiations. The Buyer will locate, qualify and manage suppliers to provide the highest quality product at the lowest cost with the highest on-time delivery rate. Duties: Identify and qualify new low-cost suppliers for raw materials. Reviews master production schedule and work orders from others. Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.
