Animal Genetics Data Specialist - (Kalamazoo, MI)

Description: We are looking for a qualified and skilled individual to provide support with obtaining and managing large amounts of genotypic and phenotypic data. The duties include, but are not limited to: managing data flow for R&D; testing and optimizing pipelines; routine data analysis and reports, maintaining databases, etc. The successful applicant will join a dynamic and diverse group of quantitative and molecular geneticists, computational biologists, and bioinformaticians and other groups. Job responsibilities: Required: Proficiency in Linux/Unix OS and in 1 or more of the following programming languages: Java, Perl, Python, C, C++, and Fortran90. Experience with handling large and messy data and managing databases is preferred. Experience knowledge in data analysis, statistics and genetics would be desirable. Good communication expertise and expertise to collaborate with colleagues from different groups and backgrounds are required
