Experienced Translator Seeking Mandarin Chinese/English multilingual individual. Mandarin/Japanese/English trilingual is ideal. Duties: Prepares for interpretation/translation by researching subject matter; studying text to be translated. Translates speech/text by listening to speaker; understanding the thoughts expressed; incorporating cultural influences; consulting other sources as necessary; explaining the thought in target language while simultaneously listening to next statement, or, taking notes for consecutive translation. Evaluates translation by reviewing clarity and grammar; making adjustments in meaning. Delivers interpretation and/or prepares translation by speaking live, dictating, or keying translated text. Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Able to travel frequently.
