Director of Supply Chain, executive path - (Pittsburgh, PA)

FPC Vinings has been retained to locate a new Director of Supply Chain for a company located 90 minutes east of Pittsburgh. This is a new position for the company and the President is seeking a Supply Chain Leader to help improve their planning and production control methods to better utilize equipment. The company is a leader in markets were steel quality is the major factor. They have significant business in automotive, construction, energy transmission, and specialty segments with good growth expected in key markets. The plant has over 200 hourly associates (USW) and around 50 salaried associates. The current owners have spent several million dollars on plant and equipment upgrades. The person in this new position will have direct reports in scheduling, planning, shipping/ receiving, and purchasing. The spend is primarily on steel as a raw material.
