Certified Coding Specialist - (Florence, SC)

ob Description: The Certified Coding Specialist is responsible for coding of claims for professional charges for Hospital Based Physicians or other contracted entities. Will involve close working relationship with physicians and department staff. The Coding Specialist will review professional and hospital charts documentation for accurate CPT/HCPCS codes and ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and compliance with government regulations. Assists in formulation recommendations based upon the findings and communicates them to the appropriate personnel. The Coding Specialist will maintain current understanding of coding guidelines and keep operations informed of all regulatory changes and updates. Equipment Competencies: Must possess basic skills to use Microsoft Windows, navigate in the Windows environment, use web browser software and send/receive e-mail. Works with a variety of PC software and internet search engines. Responsibilities are performed within a combination of individual and team environment.
