Baltimore Canvass Organizer - (Baltimore, MD)

Since 2005 Food & Water Watch has advocated for common sense policies that will result in healthy, safe food and access to safe and affordable drinking water. We have utilized original research and grassroots organizing to effectively change both corporate and governmental policies to better protect the public. Our team has successfully passed local, county, and statewide legislation against fracking, preventing the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms, banning the use of arsenic in chicken feed, and a host of other issues. To help bolster public participation in the legislative process we are hiring field organizers in Maryland. Duties & Requirements The duties of the field organizer will be to educate the public on critical consumer and environmental issues and to help build strength in numbers to effect policy changes. Organizers will be responsible for petitioning, fundraising, letter writing and phone call campaigns, and registering volunteers.
