Evansville Promise Zone VISTA Leader - (Evansville, IN)

ECHO Housing Corp. (EHC) is a non-profit comprehensive community development organization founded in 1991 and located in the historic Jacobsville neighborhood of Evansville, Indiana. The Mission of ECHO Housing Corporation is to create and sustain safe and affordable housing, provide supportive services and promote community development. In 2015, EHC worked with the Evansville Department of Metropolitan Development, the Office of the Mayor and numerous community leaders to apply for, and to be awarded, a 10-year federal (HUD) Promise Zone designation. VISTA Members will be provided with a once in a lifetime opportunity to be part of the inner workings of a comprehensive community development initiative and to develop a network of professional contacts and resources. As 1 of only 21 Promise Zones in the nation, the Evansville PZ offers a unique and career-changing background that will offer exposure to numerous federal and local agencies.
