Material Planner - (Tupelo, MS)

This position is responsible for planning the amount of material or parts needed for production and/or deliveries. Documents overall material needs, including all codes, brands and contact details necessary to process orders. Adjusts amounts for existing inventory and for orders for conventional sizes. Analyzes customer releases, ensures accurate data transfer to the supplier base. Daily system/SAP maintenance; past due supplier review module NZP50. Analyzes production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of material required, availability of stock, and order priority. Confers with production supervisors to determine overdue material and parts and to inform supervisors of material status. Coordinates with warehouse supervisor to expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production area. Examines materials received, verifies material/parts numbers and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.
