Natural Resource Specialist - (Bedford, VA)

Applications are being accepted for the position of Natural Resource Specialistto work in the Natural Resources Division of the Department of Community Development, located in the Bedford County Administration Building, 122 East Main Street, Bedford, Virginia. The applicant will assist the Natural Resources Engineer in administering all aspects of the Virginia Stormwater Management Program. Applicant should have a general knowledge of stormwater management as well as erosion and sediment control standards and regulations, wetland, and flood plain management regulations and related laws and ordinances. This position will also serve as interim Natural Resources Engineer in his absence. Applicant must possess a 4yr degree in Environmental Science or an Engineering-related position, with professional expertise in the development and enforcement of environmental codes, as well as plan review -including associated water quantity and quality calculations.
