Cook - Full-time - (Durham, NC)

Cook Full time Hillcrest Convalescent Center of Durham, a premier rehab and longterm care facility, has an opportunity for a special applicant who would like to join our team as a full time Cook. As a Cook, you will prepare and serve meals according to menu cycles, monitor the methods of food handling, preparation, meal service, and equipment cleaning. It is required that you have background cooking in a commercial kitchen; preferably in a healthcare facility with an understanding of dietary needs of the residents. Culinary training is helpful, but not required. Other duties to include, but not limited to: Coordinate food preparation and meal service Plan and initiate cooking schedule for food preparation to meet meal schedule Prepare, season, cook, and serve for assigned meal Ensure appropriate portioned servings according to portion control standards Taste and smell prepared food to determine quality and palatability The shift for this full time Cook is 10:00am to 6:30pm and will require weekend work.
