Housing Advocate/Paralegal - (New Orleans, LA)

Position : The Housing Advocate/Paralegal works in the House the nine Program and provides case management/paralegal ability to pre- Katrina Lower ninth Ward homeowners to determine if they qualify for additional federal and state rebuilding funds and to bring them into compliance with their Road Home grant agreements. Duties: Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners: keep regular office hours, answer phones, return messages and greet walk-ins; Meet one-on-one with homeowners to assess their rebuilding needs and if they are potential applicants for additional rebuilding funds from the federal Road Home Program and the Louisiana Housing Corporation's Nonprofit Rebuilding Pilot Program; Develop ability in rules and regulations governing the Road Home and Nonprofit Rebuilding Pilot programs and prepare memos applying rules to facts of individual cases.
