Teachers Assistant Purpose of Position Provide support to the teacher by helping with supervision, grading, planning, and to assist with other day-to-day activities. Create a safe and structured environment for the children. Major Duties (*Essential Element) Collaborate with the teacher in day-to-day activities. Establish and conduct classroom rules to be implemented. Assist the teacher in supervising and general safety of the children. Repair social boundaries with children. Crisis Management. Provided educational tools for children to be successful in learning (reading, writing, and arithmetic). To correspond weekly meetings with teacher and therapist about child’s behavior. Monitor social skills in cafeteria, on the playground, bathroom, and P.E. to promote healthy behaviors. Prepare students to go back to a regular school. Administer all medication to students properly. Document and record children’s behavior for supervision and parents to know progress. Engage in activities with children.
