General Summary and Basic Function: Accepts and completes software engineering tasks with the overall goals of improving current products and bringing new products to market. Applies software engineering knowledge to analyze system and user qualifications, produce new programs, and improve the software engineering process. Communicates directly with customers when needed to resolve issues that arise in the field and to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. Job Specifications and Work Performed: • Duties include developing and testing code, evaluating prototype designs, and providing system specifications. Develops high level architecture, algorithms, source code, as well as reusable components. Responsible for unit testing and debugging, resolving defects, developing acceptance tests, and supporting new product introduction. • Maintains records, computer files, notebooks, equipment, and general work area in good order. Ensures proper version control and archiving of all software work products.
