Coast Personnel is looking for Purchasing Assistant for our Client in Watsonville. Responsibilities for Purchasing Assistant are: Be responsible for maintaining positive vendor relationships, both foreign and domestic. Be responsible for monitoring the low stock status reports and other indicators to maintain an acceptable ran and/or imported materials inventory to meet production schedules. Review above reports with Production Planner. Be responsible for the cost effective purchase and transportation of raw materials and supplies. Be responsible to keep abreast of import regulations, tariffs, taxes, and the economic situation in suppliers countries. Be responsible for maintaining accurate info on all inventories held at outside locations by vendors/manufacturers. Be responsible for filing claims for short shipments and/or damaged shipments of incoming materials and supplies.
