OR RN The OR Registered Nurse functions as the surgical team leader and is responsible for the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of age specific nursing care provided to patients during their perioperative background. The competent OR nurse may be required to function in a limited capacity as a dependent assistant of the surgical team. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/TASK/SKILLS: Monitors daily workflow and staff assignments as appropriate. Directs activities of the support staff. Labels specimens according to CRASC policy. Ensures proper handling and documentation of pathology specimens. Responsible for data entry of fees and other pertinent info into HST system at the end of the day. Documents and relates pertinent nursing care. Assists in inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels. Maintains medications in department and completes Medication Area Inspections monthly. Understand OR radiation safety procedure.
