Assistant Superintendent, Water Treatment Plant - (South Deerfield, MA)

The South Deerfield Water District is seeking an individual with background in the operation and management of a municipal water treatment, distribution, and storage system. Our present Superintendent has announced he would like to retire soon, and the applicant must be capable of rapidly gaining knowledge, in order to assume the role of Superintendent reasonably soon. We are a DEP D-2 distribution and T-2 treatment facility. Assignments include but are not limited to assisting the Superintendent with: Compliance with U.S. EPA Safe Drinking Water Act, and Mass DEP drinking water regulations (310CMR22.00) Operation and maintenance of treatment plant, and all distribution, and storage systems State & federal reporting Supervision of direct employees and contractors Budget development and management Requirements: Must possess applicable State licenses and have at least 5 yrs relevant background A Mass drivers license Strong organizational and planning skills Excellent communications and people skills Strong
