Job details: The Volunteer Coordinator AmeriCorps member will directly support the mission of Pike Market Food Bank by recruiting, scheduling and helping manage a diverse corps of volunteers dedicated to serving our clients with generosity and respect. Project activities/duties: Working alongside food bank staff, the Volunteer Coordinator will: Help assess the need for volunteers in order to ensure that food bank operations run smoothly and that staff have sufficient help to accomplish necessary tasks. Create a volunteer schedule. Recruit, schedule, and manage volunteers to facilitate food bank operations including: collecting and receiving food donations, organizing and distributing food to clients. Create and implement training and orientation for new volunteers. Maintain hospitable, equitable, warm and welcoming environment for all clients and volunteers. Track, address with staff, and follow up on any volunteer suggestions or grievances.
