State Federation Organizer - (Topeka, KS)

STATE FEDERATION ORGANIZER Kansas Association of Public Employees, dba AFT-Kansas, is the State Federation of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), representing over 15,000 public sector employees (teachers, healthcare workers, higher education, as well as city, county, and state employees). This position reports directly to the State Federation President. Federation organizers will carry out the implementation of all AFT-Kansas organizing strategies as directed. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work cooperatively with AFT-Kansas leadership, professional staff and local leaders to recruit and develop new worksite, local and statewide leaders Assist locals and local leaders in developing worksite leadership structures Assist in developing power building plans for locals Assist locals in turning worksite issues into organizing and growth opportunities Work cooperatively with AFT-Kansas leadership, professional staff and local leaders to recruit new members
