Police Chief - (Northfield, VT)

NORTHFIELD MUNICIPALITY JOB OVERVIEW CHIEF of POLICE Nature of Work: The Chief of Police works under the direct supervision of the Municipal Manager. The Chief of Police is responsible for the overall operation of the Northfield Police Department including the supervision and evaluation of all police officers and the dispatcher/clerk. The Chief of Police is responsible for the continuing-ed of the department staff. The Chief of Police enforces all State and local laws and is responsible to the public to address their concerns and provide answers to their questions. Requirements: A degree in Criminal Justice is desirable and/or background in the law enforcement field. The individual must be a member in good standing and possess current Vermont certification or eligible for certification by the Vermont Criminal Justice Training Counsel in the field of law enforcement.
