Project Buyer/Senior Project Buyer (Morris, Illinois) - (Morris, IL)

BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for the purchase of commodities and services on a site or country basis. May also include contract ownership and management of Outline agreements/catalogs and spot PO´s; approximately. 80 % transactional and 20% Operational. May also include developing and deploying the procurement of local strategy for leveraging of low value and less complex projects. Applying developed strategy into contracts for assigned company sites in accordance with corporate sourcing guideline; approximately. 50% Operational/50% Strategic. Negotiates midsize value contracts, complex qualifications and meets client objectives while achieving max overall cost effectivenes. Includes understanding and utilizing the tender process, legal terms and conditions, and contract management. Interacts directly with internal clients and suppliers and ensures accurate qualifications. Establishes and maintains an effective procurement system consistent with LYB control guidelines.
