Housing Organizer (Part Time) - (Chicago, IL)

Northside Action for Justice (NA4J) is a grassroots, member-controlled organization that builds power for low and moderate income people in order to advance the cause of economic and social justice on the north side of Chicago and across the globe. We are primarily involved in the Uptown, Edgewater and Rogers Park neighborhoods. The Housing organizer would serve as a part time staff person for NA4J and primarily for the organization's housing committee. Responsibilities The organizer's most important responsibility would be to make sure that the committee's housing intake program, Tenant Housing Resource Education and Action Team (THREAT), is well organized with trained volunteers. Other assignments include: Organizing volunteers for canvassing and communication with attorneys around THREAT Providing support through communication and canvassing on our tenant organizing campaigns and helping develop leadership in targeted buildings.
