Material Handler-Bristol, TN Summary Recycling cathode ray tubes (CRTs) from old televisions. Material Handler will be responsible for receiving incoming CRT loads, manually breaking glass tubes, operating machinery to crush the glass into aggregate for onward furnace processing or use in other recycled products. Required functions Pre-Processing the CRT includes manual separation and sorting different materials. Utilizing a hammer to break leaded glass from the tube. Sorting broken non-leaded glass, broken leaded glass, and recoverable metals. Manually lifting heavy CRT units from boxes to the workstations. Utilizing a hoist or team lifting for extra-large units. Cleaning broken glass from workstations at the end of shift. Glass Crushing Separated glass will need to be crushed to specified sizes based on its final use. Operating and monitoring the crushing lines for leaded glass and non-leaded glass. Cleaning machinery lines and sweeping work areas. Receiving Handling incoming and outgoing truck loads.
