Transportation Planner - (Midland, MI)

Midland Area Transportation Study (MATS) is seeking a full time Planner to assist in administration of Midland MPO with primary role for technical tasks. Bachelor's degree in urban planning, transportation, or related position is required. 2 or more years of progressively responsible background in transportation planning with either public or private agency required. Effective verbal and written correspondence abilities, strong knowledge of planning principles and practices; GIS familiarity a plus. General Summary Carries out technical and administrative activities for the Midland Area Transportation Study (MATS) as outlined in the annual Unified Work Program (UWP), under the direction of MATS Director. Well versed in transportation planning as well as general planning techniques, processes and practices. Assists in preparation of professional studies and reports required to maintain certified transportation planning process for the Midland Metropolitan Planning Organization.
