Senior Chemist, Powder Coatings - (Newark, NJ)

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Designs new products, specifically additives for the powder coatings market. Develops data which provides a strong business case for selling new additives into the powder coatings market. Evaluates and executes technical service projects in area powder coatings involving both internal and external customers. Designs and oversees studies comparing Troy products to competitive materials in order to determine competitive advantage for Troy to assist in sales of products. Supports customer qualifications by testing company products and their components to ensure that specifications meet intended product application. Responds to internal and external customer inquiries in a timely manner. EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry required; Advanced degree in Chemistry strongly preferred. 7 to ten years of product development background in powder coatings preferred. Knowledge of powder coatings equipment and laboratory skills required.
