Fund Accountant - (Englewood, NJ)

Job DescriptionThe Fund Accountant is a team player of the centralized accounting department in the corporate office. They will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting for 4 or more assigned investment funds. Key functions: Update general ledger with daily cash, positions, and profit and loss activity Ensure the initial general ledgers are set up correctly and that the flow of cash from the investor to the investment entity is complete and accurate Prepare monthly account closing procedures and ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and controls Perform daily bank and portfolio reconciliationsTrack and deposit funds received for investment, reconcile equity positionsCoordinate year-end audit and tax preparation with client and independent auditors and prepare draft audited financial statements.Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records, communicating same to management, and assisting in their resolution.
